Vista SP 1 Issues
Vista SP 1 is out. While it is suppose to make Vista more reliable and stable it in turn caused the video card in my brothers PC to malfunction. Just wanted to know if anyone else encountered any issues with their video card and if so what they have done to resolve the issue?
We ended up buying a new card that worked fine. The index was 3.5 until SP 1 was installed then dropped two a flat 2! We could not play a DVD, open games, and got a message saying that the hardware was overutilized. After SP 1 the index wouldn't update. After a new video card the score is now 3.7 and updates fine.
Funny thing is that we had/have 2 gig ram installed and after adding the new video card it says we are running 8gig?! Can Home Premium pick up more than 4? Why does it says we have 8 when we only have 2?
We did the following
Updated and rolled back drivers(as needed)
Found no errors using event viewer
Device Manager Showed all hard working
Contacted Microsoft and got zero help.
Anyone resolve the issue with changing cards or unistalling SP 1?
